I’ve been with CS Cart since version 1.3.5 & now have 5 sites using the script. For the best part it is fast and stable, and most importantly, easy to administer.

I did spend a brief period trying Magento but gave up as, after CS Cart, it wasn’t intuitive enough.

I tried to post this yesterday, but it apparently did not work. The state of Georgia calculates sales tax by county. It is also possible that one zip code could be in two different counties with different rates. So, using zip codes will not work for setting up sales tax rates in Georgia. How would this be handled in CS-Cart? Unlike something like X-Cart or digiSHOP, there is no obvious provision in CS-Cart to tax by counties. It would be ideal if a customer in Georgia was required to enter the bill to and ship to counties and CS-Cart would read a table with the correct rate. Anyone know if this can be done?

yes I did make the switch. Mostly smooth though a few bugs they gave me work arounds for … at least they acutally offered help unlike the magento people. Overall, much less hassle then I had converting to magento and the day or two I loose EVERY time I update magento.

Well I did purposfully increase the delay time for the notice message when you add to a cart, but that’s not releated to the back end doing the job. I have no plans to do anything regarding it as I don’t plant to hack cs-cart much.

My server is a 4 processor pig with 2 gigs of ram… it SHOULD run well… but I have a lot of other sites on that server and sometimes I get hit with spam bots.

I had Magento recommended me recently, and out of a duty to keep being informed, I guess I should still check it out, although this is good information.

I was also told about a cart running off of Drupal, and I should also check that out at some point.

I have not perceived CS Cart’s Add to Cart button as being slow. Going to James’ site (very cool BTW, that you have a RPG shop!), I do see how slow it appears. I believe that this is a matter of server slowness, though. The whole page (at least at the moment I loaded it) was very slow to load.

I’ve not had any perceived issues with slowness in CS Cart.

Hello James,

I am also considering purchasing CS Cart. I see your site using CS Cart now working fine, but I am concerned about the slowness of the Add to Cart button response . Are you considering doing something about it ?
