It partially works: the buttons get displayed and clicking on them shows up the media upload windows. The problem is that the media upload/insertion window is "tight" to a text-area witch ID is 'content'. Web Newbie’s Survival Guide
Author’s note:
I don’t feel like going through the hype about signing up for my email list, etc. I have tried to write a really helpful guide, but so far, it has not found its audience. Please feel free to download it here. The Web Newbie’s Survival Guide PDF.
– Chris Burbridge
Over the years, I have worked with dozens of web newbies–people who wanted to start a web business, or utilize their existing website effectively, but did not have a ton of grounding in the tech industry, or publishing, graphic design, or other related fields.
What I discovered was this:
The vast majority of web newbies suffer from a series of predictable misconceptions about how the web works, and these misconceptions will often sabotage their success.
What’s more, the majority of web designers will not tell you about these misconceptions! For the most part, they don’t even consider it their responsibility to do so!
If you’re willing to give them the cash to build a website, they’ll be happy to do it for you–but that in no way guarantees your success!
As the saying goes, if I had a nickel for every dollar that gets wasted on developing ineffective websites… I could retire to Maui! I could tell you stories…
Time and time again, I have found the web newbies start a process to succeed online–and FAIL becuase noone ever gives them a series of critical pieces of information that they need to know to succeed! In fact,
Many of the web professionals they work with may not know all of these things themselves, and often those who do, are too busy to take the time to tell web newbies about these things!
The Web Newbie’s Survival Guide is a distillation of all the things I have learned that web newbie need to know–and , other web designers may never even think to tell you!
Frankly, a lot of the time I didn’t even think to tell my clients this stuff either, until I figured this out!
